This is Me

As a little girl, I always thought that keeping a “secret diary” would help me speak my mind and no one would have any say in what I thought and felt. I realized quickly that my diary was no longer for my eyes only. The privacy I had once thought I had went out the window and it now became a nagging to understand why I wrote what I did in my diary and what I could think could justify it. You know what I learned though, I should never have to justify what I am thinking to anyone because my opinions and beliefs have been formed from experiences in my life.

Those experiences, hard as they could be at times to understand have played an enormous role in my life. So much that I just need my own personal place to vent and speak my mind. The abuse of my childhood continues to haunt me to this day and I hope and pray that with my writing here, I can put my childhood to rest and no longer be filled with the angst that comes with the abuse.
